project: Phone Room Art Installation
location: Good Chaos, West Loop, Chicago
Inside the offices of Good Chaos Chicago, I was given the artistic freedom to transform this private phone room. Drawing on my background in interior design, I wanted to create an immersive space in a limited palette. I used a light-absorbing black paint pigment to create a lime wash for the walls, incorporating 2-D sculptural and decorative elements, handmade curtains and tapestry, as well as plaster art canvases. The design evokes a sense of calm, with elements that shift in visibility with changing light, adding dimensionality to the space.
